Rootstock ONLY is just what is says; "rootstock only." There is no grape variety grafted to it. Use this option if you want to do your own grafting in the field. This is a great option for shade arbors also. Rootstock varieties produce little or no fruit. But, they look just like a fruiting variety without the maintenance and care that comes with producing fruit. Rootstock varieties are also Pierece's disease resistant.

Vine shelters are used to protect your newly planted vines from drying out, extreme temperatures, and critters such as rabbits. They are a wax coated paper product similar to a milk carton. They are 20 inches tall and have holes along the side so you can attach them to the stake. The top is designed to fold closed and then be re-opened when the vine reaches the top.

The most popular white Rhone variety, Viognier is often compared with Chardonnay despite its more aromatic, perfume qualities and smaller production. The clusters are much smaller than Chardonnay, but are just as susceptible to mildews and rot. It is a cold tolerant variety, but requires a full growing season to achieve optimum ripeness. It is sometimes co-fermented with Syrah.

This variety is extremely versatile for winemaking and can be pleasant to grow in the vineyard with large yields.
